.Jubilee Greenway Walk Stratford High St DLR to Woolwich Aug 24, 2019 We can do a walk along the Jubilee Greenway from Stratford High Street DLR station to Woolwich on Sat 24 August. Highlights include Abbey Mills Pumping Station, a view of Beckton Alps, the Woolwich Free Ferry, Newham City Farm and London City Airport. We join the Greenway via Cam Road and the Channelsea Path. We can stop by Barking Road and Prince Regent Road for a bite to eat (mine's a small chips), and we can take coffee by the river on the University of East London campus. I'm sure many of you already know this walk, which mostly keeps away from motorized traffic, and may even include a waft of a peculiar odor (much of the route is a shared cycle and foot path along the top of the Northern Outfall Sewer). The walk will conclude at Tap SE16, near the Artillery Museum and some nice Gormley statues in Woolwich. Tap SE16 has good beer and also good pizza (around £9 or £10). The distance is an estimated 7 or 8 miles. We can aim to set off at 11am from outside Stratford High Street DLR station. It's a short walk from the main Stratford station, or one stop on the DLR. The end of the walk is also near a station. The whole walk is well within the 'Zones', so Freedom Pass and Oyster Card friendly.
